About Rob Biernacki - 3rd Degree Black Belt

Rob is the head instructor of Island Top Team and a relentless advocate for teaching jiu jitsu through concepts instead memorizing step-by-step techniques.. He focuses on concepts and pedagogy, helping competitors, instructors, and hobbyists alike level up their game. Rob created BJJConcepts.net, the BJJ Formula, the Modern Leglock Formula… and of course the infamous F*** Your Jiu Jitsu* approach.

He’s coached world champions, cornered legends, and ruined plenty of hobbyists’ evenings on open mat. Rob has gold medals from ADCC, IBJJF Worlds, and beyond. He could list his competition wins, but he’d probably rather explain why your guard sucks.
